Would be interesting to know if others also experience that approx. Half the value at placement goes away until the closing line? (I use max 12h to start)
For me this seems to be pretty consitent pattern.

No the value is always adjusting for bookmaker margins.
But the margins are changing all the way up to match start (clv).
