Finland is ending its gambling monopoly era: from January 2027, the country will implement a multi-license iGaming regime, opening up competition for online casinos, slots, bingo, and sports betting while keeping certain products (like lotteries and land-based slots) under state monopoly.
The move to a multi-license system will soon let Finnish players—previously reliant on foreign-licensed or grey-market operators—legally use a broader choice of platforms. This should increase market transparency and bet security for those using value and sure betting strategies.
Bonuses will only be permitted to existing customers—not as “welcome offers.” Permissible bonuses include non-cash items, event tickets, or moderate deposit matches that cannot be withdrawn, always presented with transparent terms. -
Emerging Regions: Latin America (notably Brazil), Africa, and the Asia-Pacific (led by India, Japan, South Korea, Philippines) are rapidly growing and liberalizing betting markets. In Sweden, In June 2025, the government passed legislation expanding the ban on using credit cards for all gambling—extending the existing credit ban for land-based play to include all online wagers, effective April 2026.
