Same odds on different bookers

Hi!

I’m a fairly new rebel bettor, nice to meet you

What I’m wondering today is: if the same match is offered on multiple different bookers, why all of them disappear if I place the bet on one of those bookers? Now, I know that is a setting you can change, but I’m thinking if there is a reason it’s like that by default.

I understand, if the bookers are run by the same operator. In that case it makes sense to avoid placing the same bet on all of those bookers that are in the same network, as that might seem suspicious. However, in many situations that’s not the case. For example Paf, Unibet, LeoVegas and Expekt use the same odds, but as far as I know, those firms have nothing else to do with each other.

So basically is there a reason I wouldn’t place the bet on all of those bookers?

Hi and welcome.
I can see two reasons. One reason is to decrease the variability. Placing same bet over several books is the same outcome as placing one bet with a stake that wold be the sum of multi-book bets.
Second reason is that the books are the “pretty” front that the user experience and interface with. Behind the scenes you have, for example Kambi or SBTech that are the odds providers. It is safe to assume that the digital information that book collects is shared with the odds provider.

Ok, thanks.
And would you keep accounts at Paf, Unibet and Expekt (an example of brands that use the same odds) active at the same time, or focus on one and move to the next one if needed?

I would not keep them active/funded on the same time. Better to pick them off one at a time.
